Randy James Martin officially came into our family on Christmas Day, December 25, 2004. He showed up on our door; but without a big red bow. Randy and Alyssa had spent hours on the phone and on-line; but Christmas morning was the first time that we all got to met in person.
Randy was born in Calgary, Canada on April 16, 1979. His family moved to Provo when he was still really young, so that his dad could finish school. They later moved to the Phoenix area, which he considers his home town. He graduated from Chandler High School in 1997, where he was involved in football and band. He served a mission in Calgary, Alberta and lived just a few miles from his grand parents. He joined the Coast Guard in 2000 and will have served for eight years this October. His current title is Aviation Maintenance Technician, which roughly translated means that he repairs helicopters.
Randy has told me in the past that he enjoys being a "kid" and plans to always keep playing. He is easy going and likes practical jokes. He enjoys his motorcycle, snow boarding, ice skating, ice hocky, scuba diving and wake boarding. His almost favorite movie is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," and his favorite color is blue. Randy especially enjoys playing with his giant "full ball", Kodi. Randy is currently serving in the nursery at his ward in El Cajon. Randy is really a fun guy, and a great addition to our family.
